Georges Lemaître a Catholic Priest, astronomer, physicist and mathematician discovered galaxies receeding from each other and formulated the Big Bang.

Edwin Hubble confirmed his observations and the expansion of the universe.

@HoraceGreenley Precisely, if everything is expanding from a single point, and you roll back time, the conclusion it all came from on singularity.
Diotrephes · 70-79, M
@HoraceGreenley The Big Bang Theory is that gravity works on a local scale but it is very weak on a cosmic scale. It is strong enough to pull some galaxies together but too weak to pull the universe as a whole together.

@Diotrephes thank you for telling me what I already know
Diotrephes · 70-79, M
@HoraceGreenley While we are all intelligent animals, it is almost impossible to know what another person knows about anything without engaging in an open discussion about a particular issue.

@Diotrephes
You made the statement as if you were informing me of something. If you want to start a dialog there are better ways to do it.

After I mentioned Lemaitre and Hubble, a reasonable person would conclude that i know something about the subject matter.
