The theory happened because of Edwin Hubble and seeing how all galaxies are red shifted. Which means they are all moving away from us

@Axeroberts That is an inaccurate statement. Galaxies collide all the time across the universe> The Milky Way and Andromeda Galaxies will merge in about anout 4.5 billion years = https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andromeda–Milky_Way_collision#:~:text=The%20Andromeda–Milky%20Way%20collision,Earth)%20and%20the%20Andromeda%20Galaxy.

@Diotrephes true however the fabric of space is expanding

@Axeroberts We simply do not know how large the universe really is or what it is. One hundred years ago intelligent people thought that the universe was just the size of the visible stars in the night sky. We now say that it is 14+billion light years in diameter.

Consider the number of atoms in the visible universe. If each atom represented the size of our visible universe, how large would the universe really be? It would be unlimited.

And don't forget, the Jesus character thought that the stars were just tiny points of light that would fall to the Earth.
