They do actually seem to know more than the average "Christian" that has been to church and not read the Bible, because they read enough to try to verify that it's not true

They know a lot less than one who has read the Bible and believed it though, and a lot less than one who read it all and believed it

@th3r0n Do you know the Bible? If so, give an example of the 4th Commandment in action.
th3r0n · 41-45, M
@Diotrephes don't buy or sell or work on the Sabbath day, if I'm remembering right

I never was one to remember things by number but that's what I seem to remember

Apparently not, honoring your father and mother, in that case children (as in under 13 by biblical definition) obeying their parents and giving them their due respect

I've read the Bible over again in the last year, but if I read it 3 more times this year I still wouldn't know things by number, that's not how my mind works

I remember concepts much better than order of things

Someone who actually understood the Bible wouldn't ask about what number was what though, that's like a school test, if asking about commandments one who knows God would likely ask what a man asked Jesus, what is the greatest commandment, to love the Lord your God with all of your heart and all of your strength, and the second is like it, to love your neighbor as yourself

That is the kind of question that someone who knows God would ask

@th3r0n Sorry to inform you that that is not the 4th Commandment.

Refer to Exodus 34:19-20 (CEV) = "19 The first-born males of your families and of your flocks and herds belong to me.

20 You can save the life of a first-born donkey[a] by sacrificing a lamb; if you don't, you must break the donkey's neck. You must save every first-born son.

Bring an offering every time you come to worship."

@Diotrephes That's not even one of the ten commandments

I was thinking that it was the commandment about the Sabbath day but I looked it up real quick and that's why I mentioned that I had it wrong

What you speak of is commanded to us but is not Even one of the ten commandments

I noticed that you completely ignored the more important things that I said, you're an atheist aren't you

If you are willing to spend a couple of hours reading and taking notes you will be able to increase your Bible knowledge. And then you will be better able to analyze the biblical fairytale.

The first thing is to define the Ten Commandments: A list of commandments written on stone tablets and called the Ten Commandments. Both requirements must be met.

So, if you are willing you can do this at your convenience. Get a pen and some sheets of blank paper. Read Exodus chapters 19-34 and summarize every few verses in your own words. Exodus chapter 19 just sets the stage for what follows, like the opening scene in a movie.

You can read it here = https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=exodus19-34&version=KJV

You will get to Exodus 31:18 before Moses gets the stone tablets.

When you get to Exodus 34:11-26 will will get to the actual Ten Commandments. Pay attention to Exodus 34:28.

All of the Old & New Testament stories are based on one or more of those commandments found in Exodus 34-11-26. The miracles are based on Exodus 34:10.

@Diotrephes you ignored the fact that the order of the commandments is not of importance, ignored what was of value, and now you're sending videos

I knew you didn't believe because the word of God tells us that it can only be spiritually discerned and you clearly have no understanding, I called that quickly

You're the one that needs to take consideration

If you address what I said before you posted a bunch of nonsense that is good, otherwise I'll just be blocking you

I'm glad to educate, but if you only want to talk about pointless things then I have no interest or benefit in it
Diotrephes · 70-79, M
@th3r0n It is unfortunate that you will not take the time to actually read and analyze the biblical fairytale for yourself. Enjoy the BS you see in silly Hollywood religious movies and the ignorant garbage that your preacher spews.

Please make yourself happy by remaining ignorant and block me if you wish. I will be happy if you do or if you stay. Your choice.
th3r0n · 41-45, M
@Diotrephes I read it in completion, but understanding is different

You argue foolish things with no meaning and fail to address anything of substance
Diotrephes · 70-79, M
@th3r0n If that is the way you see it, I'm sorry for being a disappointment. So, eliminate the stress and simply ignore my posts.

The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: There is none that doeth good.
Psalm 53:1 KJV

@th3r0n All humans are gods (and angels and demons). We have the ability to create and to destroy. Some even worship each other.
Diotrephes · 70-79, M
@th3r0n Consider a surgeon who does an organ transplant. Don't you think he has god-like abilities? He removes an organ from a corpse, cuts open a living body and removes the organ (heart, liver, kidney, lungs) and then puts the organ from the corpse into the living body and connects all of the tiny blood vessels with no leakage and connects the nerves and closes the body up. The recipient then gets up and dances down the street. How is such a thing possible unless the surgeon is a god?
th3r0n · 41-45, M
@Diotrephes not even close, his mind is a gift from God but his hand holds a blade and other instruments forged from many thousands of years of advancement, his training is from thousands of years of built up knowledge

If such a man had god-like abilities, he could do these things without training or tools, and would not need another organ but would be able to heal the one that would be replaced

Put the same man in 4,000 BC being born and he will do no such things, the word to describe your view of humanity is hubris
Diotrephes · 70-79, M
@th3r0n OK, the next time you eat a chicken leg, break the bone and try to put it back together. Can you even make a fire without a match and flammable liquid? Maybe you can make pancakes like a god?
th3r0n · 41-45, M
@Diotrephes doctors can't put bones back together either, they make it to hold straight to heal properly after cleaning it

Even if they could, they couldn't without technology

Yes I can make a fire without liquids, and make pancakes pretty well, but you're comparing humans to humans thinking that they can equal the creation not only of the heavens and earth but the very matter they are made of and the properties of physics

This is insane
Diotrephes · 70-79, M
@th3r0n Can you set a broken chicken leg?

According to the biblical fairytale, the Jesus character thought that the stars would fall to the Earth. He wasn't very smart, was he?
