Militant atheists see the Bible as it's presented by traditional theology, which is really unfortunate. They use the Bible in a sarcastic rather than skeptical fashion. They have a very literal interpretation because it seems the most ridiculous to them. They often think that if they quote the Bible at Christians that will make atheists out of them and for some reason that is very important to them.
