Not a very well versed one.

It is not as though God’s word had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel. Nor because they are his descendants are they all Abraham’s children. On the contrary, “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.” In other words, it is not the children by physical descent who are God’s children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham’s offspring. For this was how the promise was stated: “At the appointed time I will return, and Sarah will have a son.” c

Not only that, but Rebekah’s children were conceived at the same time by our father Isaac. Yet, before the twins were born or had done anything good or bad—in order that God’s purpose in election might stand: not by works but by him who calls—she was told, “The older will serve the younger.” d Just as it is written: “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.” e

What then shall we say? Is God unjust? Not at all! For he says to Moses,

“I will have mercy on whom I have mercy,

and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.” f

It does not, therefore, depend on human desire or effort, but on God’s mercy. For Scripture says to Pharaoh: “I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.” Therefore God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden.

One of you will say to me: “Then why does God still blame us? For who is able to resist his will?” But who are you, a human being, to talk back to God? “Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it, ‘Why did you make me like this?’ ” Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for special purposes and some for common use? What if God, although choosing to show his wrath and make his power known, bore with great patience the objects of his wrath—prepared for destruction? What if he did this to make the riches of his glory known to the objects of his mercy, whom he prepared in advance for glory— even us, whom he also called, not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles? As he says in Hosea:

“I will call them ‘my people’ who are not my people;

and I will call her ‘my loved one’ who is not my loved one,” i

and,

“In the very place where it was said to them,

‘You are not my people,’

there they will be called ‘children of the living God.’ ” j

Isaiah cries out concerning Israel:

“Though the number of the Israelites be like the sand by the sea,

only the remnant will be saved.

For the Lord will carry out

his sentence on earth with speed and finality.”

Be careful lest you be an object of scorn.

@Emosaur As opposed to your drivel? pshaw. you are a mentally ill young man that hardly graduated high school St Paul and his writings have been tested for almost 2000 years and never found to be wrong. I'll stick with the knowing not the unknowing.

@hippyjoe1955 Atheists by nature don't believe that shite. We have evolved!
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Entwistle And if you believe that line of nonsense you are not a very good scientist either. Evolution simply can't get started. There simply is no chance.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@hippyjoe1955 Yet the evidence is everywhere.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Entwistle Such as? Please present some.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Entwistle Still waiting for your evidence.....
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@hippyjoe1955 Look around you. Do a little research.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Entwistle Still waiting for your evidence. I looked around when I was an atheist and all the evidence pointed to there being a Creator. I would love to see your evidence to the contrary.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@hippyjoe1955 Still waiting for that abundant evidence that proves there is no Creator.
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@hippyjoe1955 That's weird... we are still waiting for the abundant evidence of the creators presents. You know, to prove the positive claim 😅
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Kwek00 You mean like common DNA that contains information and the cell's ability to read the information and act upon it? That kind of evidence?
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@hippyjoe1955 How do you connect the ability to do that too a creator, when we open someone up is there a "Build by <insert name of God you believe in>" mark to be found?
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Kwek00 So where did the information come from and where did the ability to read the information come from? A rock remains a rock. I read one biology statistician explain that in the entire history of the world in the entire water mass of the worlds water (oceans lakes rivers streams ponds) there MIGHT have been 3 useful proteins come into existence through natural reaction. There are thousands of proteins in a single cell. Therein lies the problem.

@hippyjoe1955
So where did the information come from and where did the ability to read the information come from?
Hey, that's a great question Joe!
And you have your hypothesis too!
Good luck!
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Kwek00 At least mine makes sense. An Intelligent Designer implanted the information in the living beings. Some how spontaneously turning a rock into a elephant doesn't work for me.
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@hippyjoe1955 You mean that your hypothesis can work? That it seems viable. Well, that's a good start Joe.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Kwek00 My hypothesis is certainly more sensible than yours. Yours is just silly. A rock became and elephant. A dog became a whale. A monkey lost all its hair so it invented clothing. You just are not a deep thinker.
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@hippyjoe1955 that's great... you should proof that it's real now.
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@hippyjoe1955 BTW, I don't have a hypothesis on how we ended up here. Just so you know 😅
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Kwek00 So you don't believe in evolution?
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@hippyjoe1955 I believe that evolution has taken place, yes.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Kwek00 So how did we get here? Created or evolved.
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@hippyjoe1955 You mean: when/how did the process of evolution start Joe?
