Why not be proud of your beliefs? There's no harm in a little bit of pride.

I don't see why such a thing carries pride. You haven't benefited anything by stating you're an atheist.

@bearinthebigbluehouse: Well, being proud means being content with a quality that you posses that you believe is positive, so it's possible to be proud of beliefs, especially since most people believe that their beliefs are the right beliefs. Pride doesn't necessarily have to do with benefiting others.

@bearinthebigbluehouse: I don't know if you read Freedoom's post, but he never insinuated that other beliefs were incorrect. He just has a higher opinion about his own beliefs, as he should since that's normal human behavior. Being proud of your beliefs doesn't necessarily mean you don't have respect for other people's beliefs. I'm proud to be an American, but that doesn't mean I am incapable of respecting other people's countries too.
