I Am An Atheist

Dedicating this to [removed by staff] who was so kind to present the "atheist genesis" to me, trying to convince me how little sense the "atheist religion" made. 😉

There are illogical things that can be real.

Did you ever think that from a liquid... your sperm.... and a woman’s mushy egg... becomes a human?

A bone... that resembles a rock.... grows?? From when we are a baby to who we are now.... dude that shit is illogical and really points to a greater power out there.

Evolution from a single felled organism? Where do fruits, vegetables, flowers, come from?

There is way too much in what we can see with our eyes that point us to something greater than ourselves.

@Selfexpression Except all those things you mentioned have scientific realities. We know how sperm and eggs come together to grow humans, we know how bones form and heal, we know how single celled organisms come together to be more than the some of their parts.

Are there pieces we don't fully understand? Yes. That does not make it "illogical".
@Pherick We can understand how it comes together. But what is illogical is how it comes to be.

It’s not logical to get a solid (person) from a liquid....

Science shows us this.... there is something outside of ourselves.... evidently ..... what do you think?
@Emosaur To me Christianity is the only religion that makes sense. All the other ones are about measuring up to God. Christianity is God saying.. humans.... I created you and you guys want to be ME and rule.... I’m become my a man... living the life you can’t live by measuring up to my own standard... so that your heart grows humble in your desire to seek me out.... just to live..... in this meaningless life where we are just machines for money’s sake... trying to impress others to be accepted.

@Selfexpression So its illogical to take water (liquid) and freeze it into ice (solid)?

I mean you can pick up any science textbook with the life cycle on it, it will explain what happens when a sperm and an egg come together and all the processes they go through.

Is it amazing? Heck yes. Is it illogical? No.
It wouldn’t be illogical if I took a sperm and an egg.... froze it... and got an ice with a funny looking color and shape.... no that’s not illogical....

Now to take a liquid.... and get a full fledged human with bones, organs, mind, personality.... even though we know “how” it comes together... it clearly defies logic.

@Selfexpression It clearly does not.

Scientists and many laypeople understand the scientific progression of how sperm and eggs come together to grow into a human.

That YOU do not understand it is fine but does not make the whole process "illogical".

@Emosaur I never quite got this either. Every mother on earth is more of a "god" then the Christian god is.

I would bet 99.9% of mothers would never send a child to "hell" for being bad, all the while telling them how much love them.

@Selfexpression Where does the christian god come from? Logic is reasoning, conclusions must be based on evidence. How is a belief in mythical beings "logical". What evidence do you base your logic on?

The "illogical" things you mention have been studied and are understood to a large extent. The Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection (the real one, not the flawed christian version) explains the wide variety of life forms.
@Emosaur I think the praying is just about humbling ourselves and connecting to God. I think the pain of this earth happens for us to realize we need help outside of ourselves, and that we ourselves are not all powerful as we have made ourselves to be. It’s all about a humble heart.
@Pherick I do understand how it happens. It surpasses logic to have mush.... turn into bones, organs, flesh, and bones with a life expectancy of 80 years. To have fruits and vegetables to eat.... those evolved from a single celled organism too? How did the information in DNA merely code itself from gas? There is something more. Jesus was the only one in the major religions to claim to be God and have time named after him (B.C.) and the only one who claimed to resurrect where his body could have been produced and Christianity gotten nowhere.
@suzie1960 I recommend reading the book, “I don’t have enough faith to be an atheist” by Frank Turek. I used to be an atheist and be an advocate for Richard Dawkins so I know the other side of the issue.
@suzie1960 Survival of the fittest “within” a set species.... is the logical item in the theory of evolution but.... the origin of the species is not covered well by that theory.

@Selfexpression Many of the Pagan gods and goddesses are reported as coming to Earth in human form, that where the idea of Jesus being god manifest came from. Almost everything about christianity was copied from older beliefs. The only reason terms such as BC and AD were used (now it's BCE and CE) was because christians took control by force. They got it all wrong though because, if the bible is to be believed, Jesus could not have been born any later than 4 BC. I suppose you'd call that a miracle.

One doesn't need faith to be an Atheist, just an acceptance of reality is sufficient. Frank Turek is just another christian propagandist applying the usual double standards of "proof". For example he's said we do not typically demand truth when it comes to religion yet he's a christian. That takes blind faith in myths and superstitions, not empirical truth.

Evolution is not restricted to survival of the fittest "within a set species". That sounds like another christian misrepresentation of the theory. They do that a lot. Unable to refute scientific theories, they put forward their own flawed versions and misrepresent then as the as the real ones. They then expose all the flaws to "prove" the true theory is wrong.

Darwin's Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection is not intended to explain abiogenesis. That claim is another dishonest attempt by christians to debunk the theory.

Now perhaps you can answer my questions. Where does the christian god come from? As logic is reasoning, conclusions must be based on evidence. How is a belief in mythical beings "logical". What evidence do you base your logic on?
@suzie1960 The Christian God is not really the “Christian” God... He’s just God. The constant, the force, the creator from which all things come from. It isn’t mythical if it actually happened, as many ancient manuscripts written as soon as 15 years after Christ’s resurrection have been found. I myself am on this search, if this is actually true or not. In Israel they have the tomb from which Jesus arose (I saw it on YouTube yesterday). I figure that if it was all a joke then this “Jesus” who was the only one to claim to be God in the flesh, resurrect to where his body wasn’t found, has crossed various cultures... then it wouldn’t have made it as far as it has. The other religions you mention are not even around in the numbers of Christianity. What interest would old “Christians” have in converting everyone in the past? They used the wrong methods but why.... why was the church obsessed with Christianity? Dictators get their way without the use of religion.... so where did this Jesus come from and why was Constantine obsessed with it being the official religion of it was all myth or a made up story?

@Selfexpression The christian god is the one christians believe in. It's only one of many gods and goddesses. It wouldn't be mythical if it actually existed but there is no evidence that it does. All those things christians try to attribute to their god can just as easily be attributed to other gods such as The Flying Spaghetti Monster or The Invisible Pink Unicorn.

It's quite likely there were several people called Jesus wandering around 2000 years ago but there;s no evidence any of them was the son of any god. The reason the myth got spread so far is that the Roman Emperor, Constantine the Great, if not actually converted to christianity, tolerated it.

I don't understand your comment that
"The other religions you mention are not even around in the numbers of Christianity."
Are you trying the say that the validity of a religion is directly proportional to its number of followers?
Pherick · 41-45, M
@Selfexpression You keep using the word logic and you keep using it incorrectly.
I do understand how it happens. It surpasses logic to have mush.... turn into bones, organs, flesh, and bones with a life expectancy of 80 years.
We know how it works and it works logically.

The only reason "Jesus had a time named after him" is because of the Holy Roman Empire and their reach. CE/BCE is now the standard naming convention.
and the only one who claimed to resurrect where his body could have been produced and Christianity gotten nowhere
I don't understand what that means.
