@Emosaur If you don't have the skills to do calculus calculus looks silly. An atheist doesn't have the skill set to understand God so the whole idea seems foolish. To those who understand calculus or God the mathematically challenged/atheist look silly.

No I don't base my understanding of God on the Bible. I base it on experience. Like I said, you don't have the skill set so you assume wrongly.

@Emosaur So says an irrational person. Sorry but it is far more rational to accept the existence of God than it is to deny the existence of God. How foolish and irrational do you have to be to think you know enough to deny the existence of the Creator. Answer extremely foolish and irrational.

The problem you have is two fold. You don't understand what the Bible is saying and you don't have sufficient causation in your world view. You are too lacking in mental skills to realize that fact but that same lack of mental skill keeps you from knowing you are lacking in mental skills. I often compare it to a person born blind refusing to believe in rainbows because he has never seen one. It doesn't matter how skilled the sighted person is in describing it to him he lacks the ability (skill set) to understand.

@Emosaur No you read the English version. The problem in translating is the orginal language is descriptive while English is nominative. Thus the words used to describe a period of time is translated into English as 'day'.

@hippyjoe1955 Hi Hippy, doesn’t the Bible state that God is beyond the understanding of humans? I’d be interested to hear how it is you understand God, and how that compares to others who also “understand” God from within your religion and others. I’d bet we’d see different, and likely contradictory, descriptions of God. That’s why a lot of people require something more than anecdotal professions from believers.
