As a Christian, I reject a young earth. I believe that God created an Old Earth 6,300 years ago. Let me explain:

The earth was created with a backstory or an apparent age. Think about how He created Adam; as a fully grown man on day one. In reality, Adam was one when God created Him, but he probably looked like a 30 something year old man. Now, if scientists were to have observed and studied Adam in the garden, they would logically conclude that he is 30 something, but in reality, he was merely created with an apparent age or backstory. I believe that there is a uniformity in this apparent age concept and it applies to the earth, all things on the earth and the entire universe. So, the earth could very well have been created with a millions or billions of years backstory 6,000 years ago.

It is a lot less complicated than young earth creationists make it out to be. If they understood this basic idea, they wouldn't spend so much time trying to find all of this young earth evidence. On the other hand, Theistic evolutionists also miss the mark so they overcomplicate things and jump into a pool of confusion in trying to compromise and make the Bible fit with the Darwinian monkey men fairytale for adults.

Also, another thing: 6,300 years is not young. That is old. It is quite a long time.

"For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of OLD, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:......." 2 Peter 3:5.

Earth is older than just old, yet even man is older than Neanderthals which is far beyond your 6,300 years!. Many people still have Neanderthal DNA in them today.

Neanderthals are known from numerous fossils, especially from after 130,000 years ago.[25] The type specimen, Neanderthal 1, was found in 1856 in the Neander Valleyin present-day Germany. For much of the early 20th century, European researchers depicted Neanderthals as primitive, unintelligent, and brutish.

Neanderthals interbred with both the ancestors of modern Europeans and Asians about 50,000 years ago, but scientists looking at Neanderthal DNA by race have speculated why East Asians have a greater proportion of the ancestry than Europeans. New research suggests our heavy-browed ancestors bred with East Asians on multiple occasions, giving the contemporary East Asian population higher levels of Neanderthal DNA, according to two studies published last week in the American Journal of Human Genetics.

And it wasn't just Neanderthals. Australian aboriginals 60,000 years ago...
