I was all set to watch it this morning. Somehow I wasn't surprised it was canceled, considering what a mess our government is these days. I was expecting it to blow up.

I was shocked to hear the report that these are "used" engines leftover from the Space Shuttle lauches?

@ChipmunkErnie They are behind on the design and testing of a new generation of everything, from engines, to booster engines, to Orion engines, to capsule. So, for engines, boosters and Orion engines, they are using recycled Space Shuttle components for the first 4-5 Artemis missions. It may seem incredulous, but these things are secondary to what they're trying to do now. They can either wait 3 more years, or kick it into gear. They are not going to recover these parts (as in, they will let them drop to the bottom of the Pacific).
What caused the longest part of the delay, is transforming NASA from a lowest-bidder manager, to a hands-on organization. That took over 6 years.

Sucks to be the people who camped out to watch it.

They should have just got Musk to do it.
