Anyone see the tau Herculid meteor shower?

I was just out looking for the potential shower. In the Eastern part of the US, clear skies. I saw fireflies, stars and the occasional airplane. I smelled honeysuckle and I heard the neighbors' fountain. I don't think I saw any meteors--maybe one or two at the most. The sky was not very dark--too many houses.

The NY post stated that if the shower doesn't get enough speed no one will see it. It started off at 1 or 2 miles per hour relative to the earth. That's extremely slow starting off.

Even then the best place to see it is on the north west.

I didn’t see them either and I didn’t see any fireflies. We use to see a lot of them but not so many now. I’m in the eastern part of the US as well. About As Far East as you can go . 😂
I've been watching most of the year. It's been unusually uneventful here, most times we see dozens.

I am spending a few weeks in Europe, so not ideally located for the tau Herculid meteor shower.

It sounded like a lovely evening!

I stayed in all day and night.

@JoyfulSilence it could have been a lot worse! Mosquitoes, for example!
