Major depression is like...?

When people say all the colors are drained from the world I get it. The other day we had an amazing sunrise. I said its pretty because thats the normal response. I know that people like bright vivid colors in the sky. To me though, those colors were the same as any gray, black, darkest green, etc. Nothing amazing to see, just something different happening in the sky.

What is depression like to you?

My first wife suffered from Schizophrenia. Her loneliness, isolation, depressive mood. I was her carer for thirteen years.

I think I have witnessed depression beyond where you will go.

@SW-User my husband has PTSD that presents with schizophrenic symptoms. My daughter has severe anxiety and PTSD from her dad believing there are people outside planning to kill us, make us leave our home....I'm manic bipolar, as was my mother, and her father.
Colors draining from my world is about the nicest symptom I have.
I don't share the worst of it with anyone ever.
I'm sorry about your wife and I'm glad she had someone like you for support.
I think it is different to all of us but i know with me, everything becomes a huge issue. Doesnt matter how small the issue might be.
Depression affects the brain, and colours do seem to vanish, especially after a trauma.
