Renkon Having been involved in a few social research projects, I can say this much: for every study that supports one conclusion, there are usually two others that point in a different direction. That’s one of the major issues with social research .... it heavily depends on choice of demographics, sample size, and methodology.

What you describe is amateurish, or propaganda driven. That's not how respectable and reliable research companies work.
The latter use proper contexts, proper historical contexts, and proper socio-economical contexts, to produce a statistically significant/valid sample of the population to survey.
