I attended a really good lecture by William Dalrymple and the classicist Tom Holland about the time of India before colonisation and how India was a fantastical country full of wealth and wonder. There are rumours that even Dionysius traveled to india.

This view held by the western world following colonisation that india is a country that is poor and uneducated is how the west want people to view the country. However we can see this trend moving away. It is begining to flourish again, the economy is rising at a time when others are in decline. Some people are jealous of this but i think this post colonial view of india will just be a blip on it's timescale.
