What language do you speak besides English?
HijabaDabbaDoo · F
@Selah Punjabi.
But because there's a range of languages spoken where my parents are from, I also understand Urdu and Hindi fluently. I just don't have incentive to speak it.

@HijabaDabbaDoo I've had enough Pakistani friends point this out but it always blows my mind how diverse Pakistan is because I always ('cause I'm a dummy) assume Urdu as the default. But of course. It's a huge region full of mountains and tons of colonial political history why would there be a monoculture it ain't Iowa.

@CountScrofula Yeah, it's very diverse. Despite Urdu being the national language, It's a second language for most. It's taught in schools and what you see on mainstream Pakistani media so it kinda acts as a bridge of communication for everyone in different regions.
Punjabi is technically the most spoken language. Although even Punjabi has a shit ton of dialects and they're not all mutually intelligible.
