Well. Colorization has been around for decades now without AI influence, so I wouldn't be giving AI so much credit.
It's when the AI creates the pattern from other sources where it becomes a real issue.
The pock marks is really the only thing in that AI image that came from another source.
It can be easily assumed the eyes were already there. Only thing notable is why it assumed blue eyes.

@DeWayfarer In any way it differs from the original pic is because I instructed it that way. Except for the melting foot, I didn't tell it to do that.

You didn't ask it to join in the actual creation. Where it would need to resort to its training data for the concepts.
BTW the melting is very likely because of granularity. AI often has a problem with identifying small things.
