I've given generative Ai lots of crap, but I can admit it is a useful tool

I used Google gemini to help me visualize what I have in my mind. But I wouldn't ever pass off something created by AI as mine.

The picture on the left is my drawing. The one on the right was generated by ai based off the picture and extra description I gave it. My goal is to replicate the right picture with paints and it's helpful to have a reference

I don't really think there is such a thing as ethical usage of gen-AI granted it uses other people's stolen work to generate images and is terrible for the environment. An artist can do this for you, and be compensated in the process, and probably make something way more interesting than a machine tbh. That said I love your drawing, it's a super curious concept! {=

@Nightwings I'd rather it wasn't an option. But because it is, it's faster than asking another artist and I don't have much money.

Well. Colorization has been around for decades now without AI influence, so I wouldn't be giving AI so much credit.

It's when the AI creates the pattern from other sources where it becomes a real issue.

The pock marks is really the only thing in that AI image that came from another source.

It can be easily assumed the eyes were already there. Only thing notable is why it assumed blue eyes.

@DeWayfarer In any way it differs from the original pic is because I instructed it that way. Except for the melting foot, I didn't tell it to do that.

You didn't ask it to join in the actual creation. Where it would need to resort to its training data for the concepts.

BTW the melting is very likely because of granularity. AI often has a problem with identifying small things.

@caPnAhab Oh, the actual foot is so much cooler than the melted goo AI created. The actual foot reminds me of a figure of a Danish children's character that I recieved in a Christmas present and was terrified of when I was a kid! 😆
