When I blend black and white paint, I always get gray. Why aren't biracial children gray?

I saw a kid just the other day and he had some weird taint to him could have been gray, being hauled around in a shopping cart by his hapless white grandparents with his wild noisy siblings darting about. Only glanced. Not my problem
