Just as I Vision.

I won't be doing anymore Updates since I'm going to create the background, I will be posting it until the picture completely finish.

I too feel it needs more shade .
It feels it needs to go darker.

The head looks waaay better though ...well done 🤗

Body shading is so complex .
First you have to think of the body as a tube , and shade it.
But then there all these lumps and bumps of bones and muscles that create aberrations in THAT shading .

Plus , I get this is cartooning so you wanna keep it simple .

So all I can't think of is to offer you this :

It's kinda the 'essence of light ' .

Often we draw thinking only of where light hits , and where it doesn't .

But light is waaay more complex . It reflects , refracts , is direct and indirect .
And it's these elememts that give us our three dimensionality and solidity to an object .

I always try to remember the yin yang symbol when shading - there is dark in the light , and also light in the dark .
It like one level deeper to general shading , but it brings shit to life .

See how on the right side ...there is the tiny sliver of shadow ....which excentuates the light ?
And on the left there is the hint of reflected light within the shadow ?

And I know ...shadows, and adding black can be scary ....so how far do you go ?

But in truth...black is your Ally.
Just as much as white is .

We forget how wonderful black can be .
And that it has just as much meaning as white .

Black defines .

Don't be afraid to go all out .

You will amaze yourself on how wonderful black can be 🤗

Also : dont ever think that too much black will limit where you can put colour .

It doesn't .

It helps define it as much has white does ....if not more .

@OogieBoogie Thank you so much!!!🤗 You are a true artist as well. I just go along the flow of vision I have to create it.

Now sooner or later.... You might have to help me with a Golden Robot, who actually almost looks like him but Just pure Gold 🤗
@FreestyleArt I'm glad you appreciate what nuances I have to give 🤗

Visual art is very much forgetting what our brains tell us ....and focusing on what our eyes see.

And that isn't easy .

Light ...
Colour....it's not what you think it is .

There is green in red, there is light in the shadows. Mountains turn pink, trees turn black ....light affects EVERYTHING .
@OogieBoogie light theory can get so complex.

It's not jist how light hits your subject , it's also how light hits your subject from it's surroundings.

Now firstly...ignore the right leg ....I'm shit at finishing stuff 🙄😂
[image/video - please log in to see this content]

Look at her face . The light is streaming down from above ....but it's also hitting the floor and reflecting back up onto her chin .

Her chest is ACTUALLY in SHADOW from the light above , her head is causing that ..BUT it's collecting the reflected light from the floor .🤷

And this isn't even incorporating colour !

You've set urself a challenge with a metallic robot ...shiny shit is HARD!
there's so much more being reflected with high gloss surfaces ....it gets confusing 😅

I'll help where I can ...but 'shiny ' is very hard to draw ....there's so many layers of light .

@OogieBoogie will do. I will call you up and my friends once I'm done with it. I have over 2 weeks left to complete this.
