Dark Vision: The Reanimator

I suppose I will try... Please don't send hateful responses...

A dark being that hides in the shadows

Not a direct threat on its own

Follows other beings that take souls from bodies, but leave body in good condition

Seems to reanimate the bodies, leaving the person's mental capabilities and personality in tact

The person won't know that they do not have a soul, or even that they died

Some may remember dying, but write it off as a bad dream, or something of the sort

However, the body will will begin to slowly rot and decay over time

The victim's body can't seem to hold together without its soul

A flaw in the reanimation?

Intentional?

Why does this being do this?

Either an attempt of salvation or torture?

Either way, THE RESULTS ARE THE SAME
