Embracing the Dark

Life has taught me a million lessons
Most were made from darkness
And as I plunge back into the fire
I embrace its bitter starkness

I can see the end where I transcend
Across the planes of sadness
On moonless nights with thoughts alight
I burn the candles of my madness

Through the storms of all the norms
Within the shattered glasses
The wine will flow with thoughts I know
Until this madness passes

Be the withering boughs of branches
Inside the endless forest
To see the trees burn with me
As I listen to the chorus

Of songs that sing of what life brings
The menagerie of pain
A melody of what could be
Inside the falling rain

A downpour of a thousand tears
With lightning always flashing
Foundations rocked down to their cores
As the wishes all fall;
Crashing
