@Queendragonfly Are they like curses in your head who make themselves known when the moment strikes?
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@popmol I have no idea. I don't even know what the word means 😂

I Googled it now, and I'd say I'm devious where I morally don't care, when it comes down to it, my survival is more important than being a good citizen or person.

The circumstances will tell me how devious I need to be.

@Queendragonfly ooh i see! well that makes sense!

@popmol A good example (Warning sensitive users) is when Hitler ruled.

For the Aric. Even if you thought Hitler was a fucked up person who should rot in helll fires and you had nothing against Jews or agreed they should be punished and tortured and killed, your family's best shot at surviving and having a good life was to honor Hitler , framing a big picture of him up on your living room wall going "Heil Hitler" when other Nazis visited, and put on a show til it was over.

This also often included wearing the swastika label, joining the Nazi organizations, discriminating Jews and work for SS and torturing and killing Jews.

Far from all Germans were proud or even approved it. They just saved their own flesh. And secretly played Hitler's game.

It's not evil. It's just like in the animal kingdom. Kill or get killed.

This can also be seen in criminal scenarios today. Kill or get killed. What do you do?
popmol · 22-25, M
@Queendragonfly depends on the kill or be killed but yes obviously if i live in a regime i would play along.
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@popmol Yet most people are like "HoW cOuLD tHeY?!" I wOuLd NEVER hUrt aNyOne"

Completely naive.
popmol · 22-25, M
@Queendragonfly well everyone thinks that and of course no one would. but there has been research done to it, that even if we don't want to we'll go along with the flow. it's a bit like stockholm syndrome its a self defence mechanism.
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@popmol There's a psychology explanation that also shows that it's a defence mechanism to always claim evil on another group.
popmol · 22-25, M
@Queendragonfly ooh yeah, also that when believing in a religion that says certain things even if those are objectively false and proven to be they'll just say ooh they meant something else or we misunderstood
