It depends upon where you put your love.
And "why" you love, or even what you love?🤷♀
Love for the wrong reasons and it can become chains, or a curse,....or even a prison.
Expecting love to be beautiful is unrealistic.
Love is messy, hard, changing, challenged, and a skill we are, (hopefuily), ever learning to do better.

Personally, I dont think you should "invest" in love.
Love is a feeling that just happens whether you want it to or not. It flows. It gives. It happens.
One should be able to give it freely without expecting.
Investing is giving 'something' in the expectation of it growing into more.
If one gives "love" with the expectation of it becoming something more, then it is it really love ?.....or just us filling a void with someone or something else?
