I cried for you
before I ever knew you,
just a dream I couldn’t wait to come true.
I saw you so close upon my lips,
so near I could almost taste you.
I lived in complete apathy,
in a world of gray without shine,
never knowing a dream could become reality,
never knowing my heart could awaken to a pulse.
I took one long look,
and that was all.
Now I know where I want this road to lead.
I want us to be drawn together,
letting our mistake write the story,
traveling through time with you.
Every fight, every laugh, every cry,
let us taste it in every kiss.
Let’s take that one last dance
in the moonlight beneath the stars,
in the rain,
in the snow.
In the wind,
we fly away together.

just let this last.
Even though
the cruel twist of fate
moves like the twirl in your step.
Eventually, it all becomes ash.
