Is your name a reference to the Chess Opening?
RuyLopez · 56-60, M
@Infamous607 Yes it is.
Infamous607 · 51-55, M
@RuyLopez Ahh
Are you any good,??
RuyLopez · 56-60, M
@Infamous607 Depends on who I’m playing. 😏 I get focused at times and dig into the various openings and theory. Then I don’t play for a year or two and forget everything. So it varies but only mediocre at my best. I enjoy playing regardless.

@RuyLopez
"Depends on who I'm playing"
Haha
Bravo, thats the wittiest thing I've heard all day. Took me a second to get it. Good one. I'm going to steal it from you.
I'm going to modify it a bit tho.
Next time someone I'm playing asks me if I'm any good..I'll say...I'm playing you, do yeah...😄
Infamous607 · 51-55, M
Well I've learned to be more cautious towards those who say they are not any good, than towards those who claim a 1800 rating.
Infamous607 · 51-55, M
I like the English opening. But I truly am not any good.
RuyLopez · 56-60, M
@Infamous607 I learned the Jobava London a while back. It is a lot of fun to play and gives sharp attacks if someone is not familiar with it and try’s to force a more tradition opening.
Infamous607 · 51-55, M
@RuyLopez I chose it because it's easy to learn and I can use it against anything. I tried the Ruy Lopez. But the variations were way more than my brain could handle.
RuyLopez · 56-60, M
@Infamous607 Take a look at the JL sometime. It is design to avoid the variations so it is easy to learn and to remember. There are tons of videos on it.
Infamous607 · 51-55, M
@RuyLopez Oh no brother. My brain is not malleable enough to learn all that. I just play for fun. And honestly if the guy I'm playing is a nice guy and not a douche, it makes equally happy if he wins.
