The Rubens landscapes

Art brings oneself to higher plains alright. Just think of the Rubens landscapes. For me personally, they represent well my county of Flanders. The nature and sense of being Flemish that is. During his long career, being much more than a mere painter, Rubens painted landscapes both great and small in scale, but the great panoramic format was one he developed with remarkable verve later in his life. It was then something that he did when he was thus more mature and settled. It's also a sign of him being catholic and taking what he sees in the pure enjoyment of life's moments. How beautiful is my country? That there in the Rubens landscapes 💕

When I look at his landscapes I can very easily see myself entering the painting and walking through them, spending the day there. The more I look the more vivid the images in my head are.

@robingoodfellow I know what you mean. I did the same thing. At first I thought
"I could do that" but the more I looked, the more it drew me in and I realized how
incredible it is. I have not been able to do anything like that.
