Found this wood carving I made years ago

I've been going through all my old stuff lately & I found this picture of it. The actual carving itself was lost in one of my house fires a while back so sadly I don't have it anymore.

I wish I still did though. This thing took me a week to finish & it was the first time I ever carved wood before. Plus I did the whole thing with nothing but a box cutter 馃槄

pretty dang cool. at least you've got a pic still

hard to believe you did it with a box cutter without slicing off a finger, tho, lol

btw, i think i know your last name now 馃き

@pentacorn yeah I'm glad I got the pic because at least I still know what it looked like 馃槍 but lol yeah the box cutter part is usually where people go "what, how?" 馃槀

But that's why it took a week. It was a slow process & I had to get creative in order to cut the curves how I wanted.
I'm not worried about giving my name out though so that's alright 馃槄

@ChiefWalksWith40oz Ramirez is Spanish for Smith. no one's gonna find that needle in the haystack ;)

maybe you should recreate it? that could be cool 馃槍

@pentacorn is it really? 馃 I'm Mexican & I didn't know that but my Spanish sucks 馃し but it's Ramirez because my grandpa changed his last name after his dad left. He died before I was born so I only heard the story from my dad recently

But I would.. It would just take me way longer 馃槶 I spent multiple hours every day for a week just to do that one lol

@ChiefWalksWith40oz Mexican's are in large part of Spanish descent to varying degrees , and the name Ramirez goes back quite a way in Spanish history. your dad's previous surname was probably Spanish as well, maybe.
Are Mexicans and Spain related?
Spanish descendants make up the largest group of Europeans in Mexico and a majority of Mexicans have some degree of Spanish descent.
I'm part Spanish too, but mostly Scottish and English so my surname is Scottish.

maybe you could use different tools next time? just a thought :)

@pentacorn yeah I have Spanish in my blood, most of us do. But more of my blood traces back to the Aztecs. I'm not only Mexican but I'm Yaqui as well, which is a Mexican native tribe. After the Aztec empire was destroyed by the Spanish back then, the remaining Aztecs formed 3 major tribes, one of them being mine 馃

You have an interesting mix though, I like hearing what people's ethnic history is combined with.
But I just might try that 馃 I only used a box cutter back then because I was broke & that's what I had. But I got money now 馃榿

@ChiefWalksWith40oz check out the heritage on you! very interesting. i knew the largest part would probably be Aztec, but i'm no genealogist, lol

i like learning that stuff about people too.

if you do make it, i hope you post it 馃槉
ChiefWalksWith40oz26-30
@pentacorn yeah I like my heritage 馃 back in high school my street name was Aztec because of it.

I'd definitely post it though 馃憣 If I do, I'll remember to show you personally just in case you miss it
