I was a member at darrel tank’s online courses for a while. They are pretty good and you can apply his techniques to every subject. Even if some people think it’s cheating but who are they to judge

@SW-User I never really watched any videos I just look at pictures or take them and go from there

@SW-User just went and had a little look. He’s really amazing

@MiraRoss that’s exactly what he does. He is measuring proportions for accuracy

@SW-User I’ve never really consented on doing people but animals and landscape so I’ve never got a picture of a person and took the time to try to much.
It was same thing with birds I could never do them till I took the time and did it

@MiraRoss I think that if you’re practicing portraits and become good at it, it gives you a rock solid foundation to draw anything else. Portraits are hard because the eye catches the imperfections if there’s a photo to compare your drawings to.

@SW-User I have a few in my picture folder on here if you care to look of birds I took pictures off and drew them. There not 100% same but I don’t do it to be 100% right

@MiraRoss you shouldn’t go for a 100 % accuracy anyway. That’s what separates a drawing from a photograph. Realism is the key. Not photo-realism. You can just take a photo if you want photo realism. Apply your touches that will deviate from the original image. That’s what makes it art
