I do not get people who discredit a work of art simply because they did not "enjoy" it

Like?? That's not the only purpose of art?? It's not only meant to be "enjoyed"??? Art is and can be so much more than that. I don't get why some people can't take art that's not meant just for their enjoyment or entertainment seriously.
