What benefits does art provide society? Does art hurt society in any way?

Art is a way of expression. It can aid communication greatly.
People who are unable to express themselves verbally or physically can sometimes through art. Especially children.
Encoraging peoples creativity helps them understand their individuality and can help us all see how we all see and entuprate things so differently.
I think we should encourage art much more in children. Ive recently left my job in a school and one of my bug bares was the way art is taught. Kids are not given free range to express themselves.....things are rushed and have to be done a certain way. As a creative type it bugged me greatly!!! Lol.
