I don’t know what it provides to society (not much probably) but it really calms me down. At the end of the day, that’s what it all comes down to. How does it affect YOU

@SW-User It is a relief, especially when you live in the blight of a small town :)

@SW-User it’s like disconnecting from the world along with all the drama and let your mind take a break. It’s hard to explain but once you get it,you’ll never let go

@SW-User Art provided us with the key to history. If not for art we would have no idea about past civilizations. It continues to do this as civilization evolves.

@JaggedLittlePill i can wander at masterpieces for hours and I understand the historical importance of art,yet if I think of it that way,it takes away from the experience. I like to create and feel art. I don’t like to put it in a box with the rest of” things that’s important and good for us” stuff. It just is for me. An experience

@SW-User It can be all of those things. How you experience art is subjective. That does not diminish or change that it is an important part of society and is directly related to the culture it was created within. it shows us about the artist who created it, their beliefs and dreams, their creative abilities. It can be many things all at once and in various many forms. One person can look at a work of art and see nothing while another can look at it and see everything. Art is not just a painting placed in a museum. Art is music and lyrics, art is the written words of an author crating a story inspired by current social issues, art is the etching inside the tombs of Pharaohs.
