If you're a woman, and everybody tells you're beautiful, how can they tell your personality from a selfie and how do you know when you look better?

Your question actually applies to everybody... not just beautiful people.

It's hard to tell,... Some are good at faking a pleasant smile.

Older people you can get small 'tells' in where their wrinkles are developing...

Ie..., laugh lines.
@BoobooSnafu I mighta had to split this into dozen sub-questions, but it's mostly prompted by when (almost) any woman posts a pic on places like SW with "I'm so ugly", and two dozen guys reply with "No you're beautiful". Mission accomplished? But people forget that "beautiful" is meant to refer to personality, like "Beauty is more than skin deep" or even "Beauty & The Beast". Worst yet, people ask "Which picture I look better in" and are replied "You look more beautiful in each!"... so useful!
@LoudLargeMagellanicCloud ugh... Those posts 😉

Yeah.

I get why they do it.

But really... It's just padding for the ego.

And I get that for some..., it can be a possitive thing for all involved.

I just don't like it when they do it... And they don't bother responding to the replies they get... Or even hearting them!

Or worse... They only repond to particular users, and ignore others...

That makes it just a pure act of self indulgence.

@LoudLargeMagellanicCloud beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Beauty is not just about personality but also the beauty you see in everything around you..even people. Someone might look at a person with many flaws and see the beauty in those flaws while another sees those flaws as ugly and distracting. It is all subjective.

Of course people will give general answers on a selfie post. I don't think those who post selfies with captions like "I am ugly" are looking for deep conversations about their inner beauty but rather a quick confidence boost.

Antique smiles my dear. ;) 🤗
@JaggedLittlePill Like I said, it's more questions/situations, not all of them are "I'm ugly" variations, and one can appreciate when the motivation genuinely is boosting up the poster, although there are surely better ways than just calling them beautiful.

And yea, I certainly can't fault the attention fishing because to some degree that's what everybody is on social media for. But "beautiful" is the least sincere way to describe a selfie, and on the off chance the poster was looking for genuine feedback the most useless. Otherwise, do people just count the number of "beautiful"'s they get?
@Degbeme Haha 😁

I only Classify as vintage... 😜
