Post 'The Big Conversation'...

It's been a week (or so...I think, or does it just feel like it?) since the 'Big Conversation' that myself and my friend, Gina (alongside the support from my wife..) had with our respected daughters about our involvement in prostitution.

Kaz, bless her, had to deal with the fall out when both Gina and I went working after the conversation.

Tough, I know, but we wanted them to get used to the fact that this is what we did, it wasn't anything to be ashamed of and that life goes on.

Our daughter was, it seems, taking it in her stride. Gina's daughter...less so.

So, since? I think Gina's has cooled off a little; she's not calling her a 'slag' all the time, they're talking at least. Our girl? Well, I've noticed that she hugs me tighter before I go out to work. Kaz has not had any tears from her and she's not mentioned anything of being frightened, god forbid, for me.

I can't begin to imagine, sweetie. I have a few acquaintances that have been in regular hetero marriages, and with children, and they've then come out as transgender. So having a dad that is now your 'other' mum kind of deal. I know, from chatting to them about that, that rug being pulled from under their children's feet; it's a lot to deal with.

...and the newly trangendered has a tough time emotionally on dealing with the alteration to their children's perspective of them.

I'd guess blood is thinker than water and they come around to acceptance, just like Gina's child will in this circumstances. And, likewise with your own.

In a nutshell; give it time, babe. Feel free to DM me.

I have a friend that was a prostitute but is now training to be a caregiver. They had to tell their background story to the class. From what i gather they are doing well. They changed occupations due to age and other factors.

I haven't read much about prostitutes sharing about their family lives. Thanks for sharing.

@SammyJo that's what struck me most about your words. I have never, to the best of my knowledge, known anyone in your profession. So, never having had the privilege, I'm saddled with the usual preconceived notions that many probably have. It was nice to see you in an unexpected light. I appreciate that.

Take one day at a time.

May I ask why you would tell them?

@Human1000 Better telling than finding out from others, hun. Control the narrative...

Y'know?
