Did I overdo it?

I sent my manager à thanks message. I tolh him that that it was amusing to work with him and stuff.
He didn’t answer. and today he was like “ I could be your father”
We were joking and I told him he doesn’t understand me…
Like he had to say that to push me off? I felt like he was distancing me. The guy was hitting on me for a months and suddenly he just realised that he is my my grandpa’s age!
