My washer is leaking

I swear they make stuff today to break on purpose.
I only remember my parents having one washer and dryer till I moved out, same for the fridge…..But my washer can text me when it’s done….., but amazingly not when it’s leaking……sorry rant over

It's ridiculous! my washer leaked too and it was less than five years old. Ya, you're right, we had all the same appliances when I was a kid, they never broke and could be repaired. Now they make to break. I hate it, what a waste, all in a landfill.

I'm sorry to hear this. Leaks are usually pretty easy to fix if you have the tools. Are your sons good at fixing stuff?
You can come use mine. It plays this annoyingly long tune when the cycle ends, puts a notification on the tv, and has alexa tell you it's done.
But the easiest way to know the cycle is finished is when the banging from the demons that are trapped inside it stops. I'm pretty it's a married couple that was fed up with each other eons ago.

@SooperSarah I`m trying to remember if she wears any? 🤔
@Degbeme I'll go undercover and investigate

Yesterday, my microwave just failed too! Funny thing is, 9 years ago I bought a new dish washer, new gas cooktop, new wall oven, new microwave, new washer, new dryer and a new exterior vented hood fan for my cooktop.

In that 9 year period I've replaced my new dishwasher twice which means I'm on my third new dishwasher, my new wall oven got replaced for another new one, my new clothes dryer got replaced for another new one, my new hood fan got replaced for another new one and now my new microwave is about to get replaced with another new one as well.

My mother is still using the same kitchen appliances she was given as wedding presents when she got married at 18 years of age and a year before I was even born and she still has them all to this day after raising an entire family with them and continues to raise my father to this day with those same appliances!

@swirlie Oh ya they are super heavy and do shoot out a lot of air lol. Yes my last dishwasher lasted me 5 years. I renovated my kitchen and kept my 1970's wall oven. It doesn't look the best but hey, I can fix it myself my replacing elements and it's basic and doesn't break. I also bought a new stovetop but I got the old elements, not glasstop for the same reason. Sick of things breaking.

@JimboSaturn
I had a glass-top stove as well and got rid of it. It was terrible to try and clean.

@swirlie I had one once too, yes total pain in the ass.

You are absolutely right, things don't last like they used to.

Same, it's like every 10 years...
Degbeme · 70-79, M
Did your son get it fixed for you?
FreeSpirit1 · 51-55, F

Degbeme · 70-79, M

My brand new washer leaked the first month I had it. The stuff they make these are low quality
Degbeme · 70-79, M
Well son of a B. Just before weekend too. 🤬
FreeSpirit1 · 51-55, F
@Degbeme my boy will look at it later, hopefully it’s just a hose or something
Degbeme · 70-79, M
@FreeSpirit1 Fingers crossed for you 🤞
Yeah .. I see no purpose in my dishwasher having WIFI capability .. but it does

We live in a time where nothing is built to last or be repaired
Good luck
