I bought my wife a new washing machine

She blew up the old one a week ago and we spent the last few days shopping. We settled on an all in one washer dryer. The washer and dryer are in the same drum so no need to change the clothes from one machine to another. It is also a smart device and as such she can control it from her phone. We brought it home ourselves and wrestled all 350 lbs of it into the basement hooked it up and to our surprise - IT WORKS!

I’ve seen videos of tiny homes with those in them since they don’t have much room for both a washer and dryer.

@cherokeepatti I bought it because it is very energy efficient. The heat pump uses a lot less electricity than the heating element in a standard dryer. The clothes are not as warm when the drying cycle is over.

@hippyjoe1955 How long does it take to do a load from start to finish?

@cherokeepatti It depends on the size etc etc etc. They say that a 10 lbs load takes about 2 hours. We did a huge load of towels and it took 4 hours but it is so quiet you don't even know it is running. My wife gets a notification on her phone saying that the wash cycle is over or the drying cycle is over. She wanted to wash some clothes late last night so she started it about 10 PM. We woke up this morning and the clothes were clean and dry and the door to the machine was open.

@hippyjoe1955 why would the door be open?

@cherokeepatti The machine does that automatically. It keeps the machine clean? I am not sure what the reason is.
