why dvd picture quality is better on my computer than my CRT tv

i have an old phillips widescreen CRT tv in my bedroom which i use to watch dvds...i also watch dvds on my desktop computer, but i notice that the picture quality is better when watching on my computer than on my CRT tv, is there a reason for that?

A couple of reasons:

1. The video player on your computer may be doing some real time optimization to improve video quality.

2. Your CRT TV is large and when you show a low-resolution image on a larger screen, the picture quality is not going to as good.

Do a test. Take a low-resolution photo on your desktop, and then stretch it.
