I'd Rather Get To Know You Than Small Talk

Especially on here. With irl small talk you can communicate a lot with eye contact and body language. You can communicate a lot on an emotional or playful level that can make the small talk a lot more interesting. But on here it's just text, which means that the subject itself has to stand alone in making things interesting.

Very true! Being online also makes it a lot harder to be able to communicate and not worry about their being miscommunication because there isn't the eye contact, body language etc etc.

Yup. I consider communicating online and communicating face to face to be two completely different skill sets, where practicing one only has a small effect on your skill with the other.
