small talk isn't about the details, it's the about the connection made. if you can have fun and laugh about such inconsequential things then it bodes well for the future doesn't it? and small talk goes beyond favourite colours, it can be about music, film, travel, absolutely anything. and those things can be the basis of long conversations that meander into many topics. small talk is like practice for middle-of-the-night pillow talk.
