best way to meet people and potential relationships online

i know there's a lot of scammers online.....but, even though i'm a member of facebook, i have quite a lot of friends and family on there, but i hardly interact with any of them and i log in once in a blue moon... so i'm looking for a site or forum where i could interact with other singles looking for companionship...i am heterosexual and christian.
