Meeting new people on sw. Does this happen to anyone else?

Ok so I'll receive messages from people. And the conversation only lasts for that day and I'll be the one sending the last message and it will be just a regular conversation but never hear back from people. Or they message something like how are you and i respond then it's just dead. Does this happen to anyone else? Am I just not interesting enough or what? Like why are you starting a conversation with me if you're ot going to takk to me? I don't get it.

@Pecifini I decided to not PM anyone and watch as they are on line talking and just see how many will talk to me. 0 LOL if they want to talk they can come to me
