should i stop being nice and polite

it was the way i was raised, i was brought up with manners and respect for people....but in the past people have took the piss, took liberties...then i ended up feeling frustrated & losing my temper and sometimes getting violent.

so what should i do? do i honour my parents and remain polite and nice to people...or should i develop an attitude or only show politeness and respect to those who show it back?

You can be polite, but have boundaries. You need to be able to say, no without being irate. ‘I’m not ok with this’ doesn’t need to come from a place of anger.

Yeah just be nice to people who treat you nice aswell but at the same time don’t be rude to people who haven’t done anything bad to u , respect everyone but once u see someone is not respecting u let them earn your respect
