You ever felt like you wanna shake someone so they'll realize they don't have to do things a certain way?

Some posts I see are so rhetorical, it's like people are fishing for compliments. It's obvious.

I mean I understand it matters. Sometimes we need to hear good things about ourselves. But some do it with dignity and grace, others just...I don't know. I just feel like us girls could do better.
Maybe there's a culture difference or something. But there's a difference between asking for advice so we could improve ourselves and asking for someone to flirt with you. It's like a cheap disguise and it undervalues the purpose of the site for me.

Maybe some of you think the same, or maybe not.

But from one girl to another, don't downgrade yourself. You can be more.

I agree with you. 👍 It's very cringe worthy.
Or, someone who posts a picture that is clearly and purposefully bad, so people can lie and tell them how great it is when it's really not. Why don't they just share a truly good picture of themselves instead?

@ravenwind43 I was avoiding using the word cringe but okay. Lol

I have nothing against people sharing photos. But when some posts a pic and open about insecurities, asking how to better but then reject all recommendations and advices and insist that they don't want to change, it just doesn't make sense and their true motive becomes evident. It's well...yeah. It tells me they're not the kind of people I want in my feed nor the kind of people I could look up to. Not in that aspect of self image and handling insecurities at least.

@Casheyane Common sense is not so common (and you have it.) Welcome to the unpopular club lol.
The internet has it's own energy and societal expectations that differ widely from the outside world. In offline world we still want to put our best efforts forward. In online world negativity and a lacking self image have become ways to getting critical attention through the garnering of sympathy.
You are right, it doesn't make sense.
Good post.
