Make Sure to Get to Know Someone from their Posts
Before you start divulging personal information to anyone in PMs.

Posts can be tricky ,…
Our responses to posts could vary depending upon mood and how we feel , sometimes.
Example : Someone might say a funny answer … for fun, but we never know what the true intention of their reply to that post. Did they say for fun or were they not impressed with the topic ? Kind of hard to know,
You can know a little bit of their personality through posts but not in entirety.
PMs have the ability to seek responses or share information at a greater depth, you can sense their tone and understand a little better.
But then it depends on the trust levels , if someone is not trusting they wouldn’t share much information through posts or PMs.
Both have pros and cons …I feel

If someone sends me a message, I’m not going to share anything much about myself, but only after some time seeing their posts, their comments, can I get a better picture of who they may be. Again, they may be fake on their posts and/or their messages, but the interactions they have with others tells me something of their character. For example, if a man in his 60s-70s messages me, who may seem very interesting to talk with, but then I see him flirting with girls in their 20s/30s, it makes me cringe, and I know no matter how interesting he (or she...if it’s in reverse), they are, I am totally turned off by them. That’s just one example. @scorpiolovedeep
