Would you rather have the ability to instantly master any skill of your choice but forget it after one year, or have to learn everything the hard way

Honestly, I’m not sure I could master a skill the easier way.
Everything I’ve learned and know, has been through trial and error. Learning to master playing guitar and my work career..
