Except none of it is familiar to me. I have no kids. When people have used text-shorthand with me, there are often several meanings an abbreviation could have, of which at least two could fit the context. For instance, lol can mean[i] laughing out loud[/i] or [i]lots of love[/i].

As for deductive reasoning, I would hope it requires more skills than filling in the consonants, assuming someone can spell and that the full context is known.
