Born in Melbourne, Australia, Hemsworth grew up on Phillip Island top the south of Melbourne.
The youngest of the Hemsworth brothers, he engaged an agent while still at high school and followed his brothers into acting, first with small parts in 2007 in single episodes of the Australian soap “HOME AND AWAY” (1988) and popular drama “MCLEOD’S DAUGHTERS”(2001) before landing the recurring role of Josh Taylor in the long running soap,“NEIGHBOURS” (1985) in 2008.
More TV and movie work followed, in the UK and USA as well as Australia, but he came to international notice in 2011 when he was cast in the big screen adaptation of SUZANNE COLLINS’s hit teen novel THE HUNGER GAMES (2012)
