Scott didn’t start out his “career” as military and is likely one of the last people most would want protecting their king. His roots begin in the slums of district 3 like many a criminal.
He survived with a group of orphans who eventually became a gang called the Red Saints. He has several tattoos he earned from working with them and his proficiency with a fire arm often made him the body guard.
Scott was arrested in an one of the gang’s dealings and served a five year prison sentence before he was released back into District 3.
He became a mercenary who used his sharp shooting skills to assassinate people for anyone who had enough money. During one of his cases in the capitol he was stabbed by a mark repeatedly and he thought for sure it was over for him.
Scott was rescued and taken in by Bran and Nasrin Madigan who personally saw that he was back on his feet despite the fact that he was covered in prison tattoos and hardly worth saving in his own opinion.
After that he returned to mercenary work until he was called upon by Bran. The man asked him to become the king’s body guard 3 months ago shortly after he presented and Scott grudgingly agreed. He owes the Madigans his life after all.
One of the King’s friends, Odette Alfarsi has been constantly pestering him for combat training since he arrived and after being worn down he’s taken in the girl as his student.
