About Me About Me NotesAbout Me
Introduction: I was born in Denmark in 1992, and moved to Ukraine in 2018, where I now live with my Ukrainian husband. I use SW to share diary entries, creative projects, and pictures, along with the pleasure of meeting people from all around the world. I have no children and don’t plan to. My hobbies revolve around the creative spectrum, from visual art to analyzing video game worlds and interpreting books – I also write short stories, but usually keep them to myself and continually evolve them. I love positive, passionate people, though I tend to be quiet in the company of strangers. I keep the majority of my posts lighthearted, as I don't wish to have overtly personal conversations with people I don’t yet know, and I prefer to only spend a minimal amount of time online. You are welcome to DM me, but if I don't respond within a week or two, then please return to writing to me in the public forum.
Lifestyle: I'm a freelance artist who's head over heels in love with nature, and I care for animals nearly as much as I do for people. I can't imagine life without access to trees, ponds, tall grasses, or my wonderful pets. Given the character of my work and interests, I spend a lot of my time indoors, hence daily physical activity is essential to my health and well-being. I walk my dog for 1 to 2 hours, and work out for 20 minutes, every day – that's my bare minimum. My pets' routines are important to me, so I don’t get super spontaneous unless someone else is looking after them. I'm a chaotic person by nature, so I make a conscious effort to maintain structure and balance these days.
Music: I adore music, yet I often find it too emotionally stimulating for a casual Wednesday. My all-time favourite band is Danser med Drenge, which translates to Dancing with Boys in English. It’s a Danish pop band that I grew up with, which blends schlager influences with soft rock instrumentation. I also had a pretty serious love affair with Meatloaf during my 20s, particularly "If I can't Have You", "I'd Lie for You", and "Alive". I believe I can truly enjoy any kind of music in the right context, though perhaps with the exception of very heavy metal.
Gaming: I take a wide range of things away from video games, from relaxation and mental stretching to visual and even literary inspiration. I care deeply for lore-riddled games like Dark Souls and Hollow Knight, because they spark my curiosity; however, in terms of challenges, I prefer mental ones, such as those in Against the Storm or Dwarf Fortress. My favourite game to date is Divinity: Original Sin 2, a top-down-view, turn-based strategy RPG. This, along with Stardew Valley, Fran Bow, and the Penumbra series, feels like home to me.
Literature: This is one form of art I find too rich and complex to be confined within genres. Great literature transcends rigid genre labels, as exemplified by Isabel Allende's The House of the Spirits, Sharon Maas' Of Marriageable Age, Betty Smith's A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, and Elena Ferrante's My Brilliant Friend series. The majority of books that I've read have been hand-me-downs from my mother and friends. The stories I write are extensions of myself; they are manifestations of my grief, fears, hopes, and daydreams. I look to inspire and be inspired.
