Heartheocean

I live on a remote island on one of the Northern Isles in Orkney, Scotland. I live here alone with my three dogs, a Jack Russell Terrier and two very affectionate Labradoodles. Needless to say I get a lot of exercise walking them daily. There is a long sandy beach which is 2 minutes walk from my back door. I typically walk 30-40 Km a week in Winter and 40-50 km a week in Summer. Although I am retired I occasionally get asked to repair or build dry stone walls for other people living here. The island has a population of 350 people. The island is 7 miles long and 3 miles wide. I don't smoke but don't mind If other people do. I do drink alcohol but try to keep it at a sensible intake. I love to cook and cook all my meals from scratch. No ready meals. Since my late wife passed away due to cancer, I have been concentrating on keeping healthy as there is no one else to look after our 3 dogs at present. My daughter and her partner are coming to live with me on from November 2016 and I hope to be able to travel once they have settled here and will be able to look after the house and the dogs. I like to listen to radio a lot when I'm working and would typically listen to pop, rock and classical music. I also watch television when I rest in the evening. I also like fishing but don't often get the opportunity these days.
